5 queues

1. Tight trunk

Often forgotten but super important as you progress to goblet πŸ‘‰πŸΌ front πŸ‘‰πŸΌ safety bar πŸ‘‰πŸΌback squat. This refers to keeping your upper back tight and your abs braced!

2. Pressure through the feet 🦢

This is talking about feeling pressure in your big toe, little toe and heel while trying to pull your feet apart. This will make you feel really stable and strong before you start squatting and allow you to get more out of your squat by engaging the outside of your legs 🦡

3. Pull into the hole

The downwards movement of the squat is just as important as the upward movement. You need it to make a conscious effort to pull yourself into the bottom position while maintaining pressure through the feet 🦢

4. Push out of the hole!

This isn’t just standing up. When done correctly this is the combination of the past 3 cues coming together to get the most out of movement. You need to make sure you are pushing yourself out of the hole you pulled yourself into before and to maintain the foot pressure you need to think about pulling the toes out. (Another good way to think about it is screwing your feet into the floor credit Adam Komatsu for that one) By thinking about pushing the toes outwards you will automatically engage the glutes as you stand up.
